1. About These Terms

These terms cover the HouseShift website, public demo, and early-access service. HouseShift is a project created by Brian and Teryn in Mystic, Connecticut. “We” and “us” refer to the HouseShift team. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. A separate written pilot agreement, if provided, controls where it conflicts with these terms.

2. An Early-Stage Product

HouseShift is in development. Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. The public demo is free to explore and uses sample accounts; its demo views are not private account authentication. Shared restaurant access is available only when we explicitly enable it for an approved pilot. The 7shifts integration is planned and is not connected.

Use sample information in the public demo. Do not use it for confidential employee or guest records. Keep your own reliable records and backups; the demo is not a production system or a commitment to future features, availability, support, or pricing.

3. Restaurant and Account Responsibilities

You must have authority to use the service and share the information you enter. Organizations are responsible for authorizing their staff, choosing appropriate permissions, and providing any notices and permissions required for workplace information, photos, and recordings. Keep shared sign-in access secure and tell us about suspected unauthorized access.

HouseShift helps organize work. Managers remain responsible for staffing, scheduling decisions, wages, hours, breaks, food safety, and compliance with employment and other applicable laws. The service is not a payroll system, time clock, emergency service, or substitute for professional judgment. Verify important information independently.

4. Your Content

You retain your rights in the content you provide. You give us permission to host, store, process, and display it only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and maintain the service for you and your restaurant. You are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions, including permission to record or share someone’s image or voice.

Do not enter payment-card details, government identification numbers, medical information, or other highly sensitive information. Avoid including guests or children in photos and recordings. Exported backups contain your content; store and share them carefully. The Privacy notice explains how information is handled.

5. Acceptable Use and Ownership

Do not use HouseShift unlawfully, harass others, upload infringing or harmful content, access another restaurant’s information without permission, interfere with security, or overload the service. Do not misrepresent your identity or attempt to bypass access controls.

HouseShift’s software, branding, and site content belong to their respective owners. These terms allow you to use the service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership. Third-party products and integrations are subject to their own terms. HouseShift is not affiliated with or endorsed by 7shifts.

6. Availability, Warranties, and Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the early-stage service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

7. Ending Access and Changes

You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict or end access to address misuse, security risks, legal requirements, or the end of a pilot. Where practical, we will provide notice of a pilot ending so restaurant administrators can export their records. This is not a guarantee that data can always be recovered.

We may update these terms as the product develops and will revise the date above. For material changes affecting an active shared pilot, we will give notice through the service or the pilot’s contact channel before the changes take effect, unless an urgent legal or security reason requires otherwise.

8. Governing Law and Questions

Connecticut law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. These terms do not require arbitration or waive rights that cannot be waived by law. Please contact the HouseShift team with questions or concerns.
